meet up with Rinpoche and Lama

I've always been a devoted Buddhist. Even in my past lives. When I was a child, my parents would brought me to attend dharma teachings by Tibetan monks. I remember the first Rinpoche I met was Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche, when I was just 6 or 7 years old. He is also known as Khyentse Norbu, the director of The Cup and Travellers and Magicians.

Another Lama whom I haven't met for 20 years was Lama Jamyang Lekshey. The last time I met Lama Lekshey was when he was here in Malaysia with my guru, H.H. Sakya Trizin.

So, my sister and I decided to meet up with Lama Lekshey who was here last week with Luding Khenpo Rinpoche and another two Lamas. They were staying at Eastin Hotel. It was a great feeling to see Lama Lekshey again after two decades. Both Rinpoche and Lama Lekshey speak fluent English. We chatted for awhile with Lama and Rinpoche before we leave as there were other guests. My sister and I managed to snapped a picture with Rinpoche.

my simple weight-losing plan - week 3

To be honest, I stopped exercising since last Thursday. So it has been a week now and I have to admit that I do not have the discipline. Perhaps my friend, Cindy, is right. I did not say how long I want to do this and what is the ideal weight I want to achieve. However, I do not want to pressure myself with commitment. I just want to do it and have fun with it.

Luckily, I maintain my weight for this week. Perhaps it's my diet and pressure due to exam and work.

Hopefully it's not going to rain again this evening. I really miss jogging at the park. It's enjoyable to see the same faces every evening; the same group of kids playing, aunties chatting about their kids, uncles jogging and maids walking the dogs.

homework for parents

I believe most teachers would like to get to know their students well. Hence, they would usually ask their students to introduce themselves during the first day of class.

There's a better way to get to know your students. Tell your class that you are assigning their parents homework (the kids must be very happy!). Explain to your students that you need their parents to write a letter to discuss about them (likes, dislikes, achievements, concerns, etc).

I believe parents will respond well to this initiative.

high inflation rate

Dear PM,
Are we going to do something about the high inflation rate at 4.8%? Or at least give your comment about it? I know you can't do anything on the sharply increased fuel prices, but at least your ministers can encourage the rakyat to spend on local products like we used to do in the past. Campaigns like "Belilah Barangan Buatan Malaysia" and "Kempen Inflasi Sifar" initiated by Tun Dr Mahathir were so impactful back in those days. Please, at least do something about it.
