Free Burma

Free Burma!

Thursday 4 October was proclaimed International Bloggers' Day for Burma. As the Free Burma website explains, the organisers of this campaign 'want to set a sign for freedom and show our sympathy for these people who are fighting their cruel regime without weapons.'

Personally, as a Buddhist and a person who's strongly against violence, Buddhist monks shouldn't be protesting on the street. However, it is even worse for the ruthless junta to act violently against the monks.

A friend of mine been to Myanmar few months back and show me some photos. I was completely shocked and disbelief upon seeing the condition of the country.

And recently an ex colleague told me she has changed job and now with the International Organization for Migration. And she told me there are a lot of Myanmar refugees trying to escape the poverty and militant rules by seeking refuge in Thailand.

What I can do now is pray and hope that one day Myanmar will see democracy ruling in their country.

A short story to share with

Very rare that I received a good forwarded email. Today, I've got a good one and would really love to share it with you guys.

Little girl and her father were crossing a bridge. The father was kind of scared so he asked his little daughter, "Sweetheart, please hold my hand so that you don't fall into the river." The little girl said, "No, Dad. You hold my hand." "What's the difference?" Asked the puzzled father. "There's a big difference," replied the little girl. "If I hold your hand and something happens to me, chances are that I may let your hand go. But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens, you will never let my hand go."

In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind, but in its bond. So hold the hand of the person who loves you rather than expecting them to hold yours... This message is too short......but carries a lot of feelings.

Why I want to eat at Friday's

If you have been to T.G.I Friday's and happened to celebrate your birthday or someone else's, you'll definitely see their staff singing/rapping (and clapping away) a birthday song for the birthday girl or boy. And the song/rap is actually based on the tune 'We Will Rock You'.

So, based on that, I'm writing my own version of 'We Will Rock You' in this special post and hopefully will gran
t me a chance to win free dinner at T.G.I. Friday's and that RM1k.

It’s Monday blue, let’s hit Friday’s soon
During Ramadhan, better get there on time and dine
‘Nuff cash in my pocket
I’m no cheapskate
Order our food and wait for our plates

Let me, let me win this
Let me, let me win this

Weiss, friendly waiter, attends us
Pickin’ from the menu, that ain’t easy thing to do
We have huge appetite
And in delight

Gotta snap pix for blogging site

Let me, let me win this
Let me, let me win this

So, do you think I deserve this
Pleadin’ with my eyes gonna come back one of these days

I’ve got mud pie in my head
And bill to pay

Somebody please ask me to diet today

Let me, let me win this
Let me, let me win this

Vamos Rafa song

Just like Maria Sharapova, Roger Federer (Grand Slam Man), Andy Roddick and Lleyton Hewitt, Rafael Nadal have his own song too. You can listen to some samples and purchase the songs at Tennis Tunes.

I've purchased Vamos Rafa's song for USD1.30. Anyone interested to listen to it, drop me an email. But, there's a simple request from me, drop me a comment "Vamos VMY2007" at this campaign post of mine. If you have already done that, I'll send you that mp3 file for free.

Vamos Rafa, vamos Rafa
El Toreador
Vamos Rafa, vamos Rafa
It's you they adore

The girls go wild when you hit one down the line
You play with such gusto, mucho gusto all the time

Vamos Rafa, vamos Rafa
You've got them on the run
Vamos Rafa, vamos Rafa
You should show them your guns

You make King Juan Carlos happy when you win
You've got a nasty drop shot and serious, serious topspin

When you leave Mallorca
And get to New Yorka
You will find they adore you too
And your fancy tennis shoes
And your Uncle Tony too

Vamos Rafa, vamos Rafa
Can I borrow your shoes?
Vamos Rafa, vamos Rafa
With them I'll never lose

Adios amigos see you next time on the courts
In the meantime, por favor, could you do something about those shorts?

Empowered weekend

It was a tiring weekend but an empowering one.

My parents come all the way from Kuantan and we all went to the Kalachakra Puja at OCM Indoor Sports Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

Hopefully I'll be able to write a post about this weekend as all the pictures are in her camera as well as some books which I bought yesterday which I want to share the content with Buddhists who come into my blog to search posts about Sakya.

On the 5th October 2007, His Holiness Sakya Trizin will be conducting Vajra Kilaya Initiation in Aman Puri at 7.30 p.m. For those who are interested to attend dinner with HH earlier at 5 p.m. can contact Ms Choon Lan @
012-638 5051. The Sakya Centre in Aman Puri, Kepong, is under the guidance of Guru Phurla Rinpoche.

And I'll be posting the updates on my campaign "HCFoo-Meet-Nadal" as soon as possible.

What's the meaning of Vamos Rafa?

If you are a tennis fan, 'Vamos Rafa' is definitely a familiar phrase for you.
In Spanish, the word 'vamos' means 'let's go'.

Rafael Nadal has 'Vamos' on his left shoe and 'Rafa' on his right shoe. It simply translated to 'Go Rafa'!

Other Spanish or Latin players shout 'vamos' whenever they win a point too.

Now shout vamos and visit Real Money Slots.
