Heidi Klum has designed an official US Open t-shirt to be sold at the 2008 US Open.
The limited edition Heidi Klum t-shirt is part of the USTA’s wide-ranging green initiatives at the 2008 US Open and will be sold at the Octagon, the US Open store located in Louis Armstrong Stadium, on USOpen.org and at US Open SoHo.
The design will be printed on a 100% organic cotton t-shirt. Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment.
Klum – who, along with husband Seal, is an avid tennis fan -- used her children’s crayons to sketch colorful butterflies, turning the body of each butterfly into a tennis ball. Instead of designing hard lines or using digital art, she made her designs feel organic and home-made, leaving her scraggly lines.
Once the butterflies were complete, the creative team at the USTA took the 11 versions of butterflies Heidi drew and placed them into Heidi’s intricate template. The front of the t-shirt was later polished off with Heidi’s handwritten “US Open 08,” using a heart in place of the zero. The use of a drawn heart is a trademark element of Heidi’s signature.
“I think it’s important to keep our environment healthy and I really believe everyone, even in small ways, can take a proactive approach to keep the environment in the best shape possible,” said Heidi Klum, supermodel, executive producer and host of Bravo’s series Project Runway.
"I was so honored to be asked to design this shirt. I hope people will like it and, by purchasing it, do something positive for the environment.”
A portion of the profits from the Klum t-shirt will benefit Unisphere, Inc., the non-profit organization that maintains and preserves Flushing Meadows Corona Park, home of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.(Via U.S. Open website)
I can't help but crazy over this yellow and white t-shirt worn by Fedex recently during a training session at the Estoril Open.
This Nike Co-[Lab] Tee is a 100% cotton round neck tee shirt featuring a graphic print by guest artist Misha Hollenbach of Perks & Mini from the 'Running Man' Co Lab collection. There's an embroided Nike logo on the hem.
It's also available in brown colour.
By the way, at the Estoril Open, Fedex is getting help from 55-year-old Spaniard clay court specialist, Jose Higueras who has helped guide Michael Chang and Jim Courier to Roland Garros crowns. So, I'm kind of nervous for Nadal this season.

After much criticism by some friends about Rafael Nadal's t-shirt design in my blog yesterday, I've come up with a 'better' results. It turns out that the previous design is rather 'childish'.
Hence, I've designed Nadal and Federer t-shirts with the Che-Guevara effect, which I hope you guys would like. So this is final. Nadal's t-shirt is black while Fedex's is white.

I have made my decision to go on and print a small number of Nadal white t-shirts for the cost of about RM20 per piece.
After seeking some comments from close friends, I've chosen this design and will go for printing latest by next week. I will definitely wear the t-shirt to watch Nadal's exhibition match in Shah Alam.
And Federer's white t-shirt will be on the way too. Will only sell these t-shirts based on demand as I've no intention to make money out of it (unless you are buying through my shop in Cafepress).
I've just created a store to sell t-shirts on Cafepress and I'm selling Nadal's t-shirts. The design is plain and simple. Hopefully, I'll add more design soon over the weekend and see how the sales go.
In the meantime, I'll have to concentrate on my meet-Nadal-campaign.
