Weekend winners

Novak Djokovic has a good reason to throw his racket during the men's final match at the Artois Championship tennis tournament in Queen's Club. Just like the French Open semifinal match recently, Djokovic has been leading quite comfortably at 3-0 in the first set but Nadal stormed back and win the tie breaker.

Nadal continues to win another tie breaker in the second set making him the first Spaniard since Andres Gimeno in 1972 to win in a grass court title. Nadal won 7-6, 7-5.

In Germany, Roger Federer won the final match of the ATP International Series tennis tournament Gerry Weber Open against Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber in Halle. Federer won 6-3, 6-4.

In another tournament, Russian Nikolay Davydenko defeated defending champion, Tommy Robredo 6-3, 6-3 to win at the Orange Warsaw Open.

From the grass court @ the Queen's Club

This is a brief and random post as I have tonnes of work to catch up. Will be starting a new job next week. Supposed I'm working on contract basis in this current company for 3 months but I end up being working here for a year now.

With the petrol hike and increase in cost of living, I think it's a perfect time for me to move on and out of my comfort zone a bit and strive for more money and perks in Kuala Lumpur. Believe it or not, this is my first time working out from Petaling Jaya.

Enough said about me, let's talk about tennis. You know, Wimbledon is just 2 weeks away. Nothing gets me more excited than Rafael Nadal on grass court. But with that weird looking white T-shirt? Eeewww... wouldn't you just want to rip it off?

Hey, I have a photo for you. Guess who is the player in this photo. No prize for today. Give you a clue, the girl in the next picture is his girlfriend.

Pretty, eh? That is model Brooklyn Decker. Yeps, she's Andy Roddick's fiancee. Besides the girlfriend, guess who is also watching (or should I say spying on) Andy Roddick?

Seems like Nadal has already started working for his first Wimbledon already. Perhaps Roddick is the best person to learn something from about grass surface. After all Roddick is the defending champion here at the Queen's Club and now bidding for a record of 5th Artois Championships.

Frenchman Richard Gasquet pulls out from Beijing tennis

Nicolas Mahut and Richard Gasquet (with a cap) during the doubles match
at The Queen's Club tennis tournament.

First it was Andy Roddick. And now Richard Gasquet is pulling out from the Beijing Olympic 2008 as well.

Gasquet who is a Frenchman perhaps could be a Pro-Tibet? Or perhaps I should say that the French people are not welcomed in China?
"In agreement with his coach Guillaume Peyre, Richard Gasquet announces that he will not take part in the Olympic Games," Team Lagardere said in a statement."
Roddick on the other hand chose to skip this year's controversial Olympic event by concentrating on preparing for the U.S Open by playing at the hard court Legg Mason Tennis Classic.

Personally, I don't care if Gasquet or Roddick taking part in the Olympics or not. It doesn't make any difference.

Quote of the day: Rafael Nadal on the final match against Roger Federer @ the French Open

"I am humble," Nadal said, "but the numbers are the numbers."
~ Rafael Nadal

The final result of 6-1, 6-3, 6-0 at the French Open 2008 must be the most talked topic among all the tennis fans and media.
