TENNIS WATCH: What's up Down Under?

• Earlier this week, Andy Roddick and wife Brooklyn Decker visited the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane.

But guess who steal the show?

Roddick tweeted about two koalas making love that stole the limelight during his visit.

• The protest at Israeli Shahar Peer's match ended with an arrest today. The demonstrators belonged to local activist groups opposed to Israel's treatment of Palestinians.
  

Peer said the noise was disruptive but only increased her determination to win. She won 6-0, 6-1 against Magdalena Rybarikova.

More protests are planned for tomorrow. I guess this will continue until the Australian Open later this month.

• The recently retired Fabrice "The Magician" Santoro may play in Australian Open. If he does, he'll be the only player to have played Grand Slam events across four decades. He first made his Slam debut at the French Open in 1989.

• Now all top players want to participate in the Kooyong exhibition, including Robin Soderling who confirmed his presence after losing in the first round of Chennai.

Novak Djokovic, Juan Martin del Potro, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Fernando Verdasco, Fernando Gonzalez, Tommy Haas are also booked for the eight-player round robin event.

One last spot is currently being held for Roger Federer who's in taking part in the Qatar Open this week.

Andy Murray and Andy Roddick also have indicated that they may want to play at Kooyong if they do not get sufficient preparation this week.

Tennis WAGs (and a boyfriend) at the US Open 2009

Mirka is back in the player box after gave birth to a set of twin girls back in July.

She looks great and ain't heavy anymore.

Other tennis WAGs (Wives and Girlfriends) watching their men playing on courts for the past three days were Maria Francisca “Xisca” Perello, Jelena Ristic, Kim Sears, Bec Hewitt and Brooklyn Decker.

Andy Roddick: Birthday in NYC with wifey Brooklyn Decker

Celebrating his 27th birthday, Andy Roddick was spotted out and about in NYC with his wifey, Sports Illustrated model Brooklyn Decker.

The couple stopped off for some coffee during their city stroll.

Earlier, Roddick voiced his disappointment after the Tennis Integrity Unit has put regulations on the Twitter rights of players.

Roddick tweeted, “I think its lame the US Open is trying to regulate our tweeting. I understand the on-court issue but not sure they can tell us if we can’t do it on our own time … we’ll see.”

Tennis Integrity Unit warned players about using Twitter away from the court, as they could potentially send out “certain sensitive information” about the matches.

Andy Roddick & Brooklyn Decker: The paparazzi photos exposed!

The paparazzi did indeed snag some photos of the wedding.

TMZ reported that "Andy Roddick took his mind off his lifelong commitment to just one smoking hot swimsuit model (Brooklyn Decker) with some premarital golf on Friday".

There are over 40 paparazzi photos posted on TMZ but so far none of them featured the couples in their wedding dress together in a single shot.

Hopefully we'll get to see the official wedding photos next!

Andy Roddick is officially a married man!

It's a shame that Roger Federer's wedding did not get as much coverage as Andy Roddick's.

According to people.com, the American tennis star finally tied the knot on Friday evening in Texas with fiancée Brooklyn Decker in a twilight ceremony at his Austin, Texas.

At the ceremony, bridesmaids wore strapless, chocolate-colored gowns, and the setting was decorated with bright, tropical flowers.

The bride's gown was by Vera Wang.

The beautiful couple swapped vows before a group of family and close friends which included Andre Agassi, Steffi Graf, James Blake, Mardy Fish, Justin Gimelstob and good pal Elton John, who also performed that evening.

A dinner at the nearby Westwood Country Club followed the "I do's".

Roddick and Decker, who started dating in 2007, announced their engagement in March 2008.

The pair first met after Roddick asked his agent to track down a number for Decker, who appeared in Sports Illustrated's swimsuit edition.

Andy Roddick & Brooklyn Decker wedding details exposed!

Saw this piece of info through a link posted by Lynn of offthebaseline.com in facebook.

In the article, fashion reporter Marques Harper unveiled the wedding details which is scheduled to take place this weekend:

Brooklyn will wear a Vera Wang dress. Vera Wang offered to make the dress. She is a good friend of Andy’s. They know each other because Vera and Andy have stayed in neighboring properties in Hawaii for some time. Andy usually stops in Hawaii every year on his way to play in the Australian Open.

Andy had offers from several designers including Austin-born Tom Ford for his wedding outfit. However, he is keeping the look a secret until the wedding day.

There will be 30 people, mostly family and a few friends, at the wedding.

The reception will be at Stubb’s from 6 or 7 p.m. until 2 a.m.

They have selected an unnamed band or DJ to provide music.

Andy doesn’t want to provide photos to the media. He did get offers from (probably) People and US Weekly and those types of mags. However, he said he wants to keep the event private even though the money paid for a photo could go to his charity. Andy just wants to have a special moment.

Andy and Brooklyn have really never been to a wedding or reception so they planned something very simple.

Elton John will play at the wedding, which will likely be outside.

There isn’t a backup plan if there’s bad weather on Saturday.

Andy Roddick, Brooklyn Decker to marry this weekend

Andy Roddick is set to marry longtime girlfriend Brooklyn Decker in Roddick's home in Austin, Texas this weekend.

The couple met in 2007 when Roddick, 26, asked his agent to contact Decker's agent after seeing her in Sports Illustrated.

He proposed to Decker in March 2008, but said they weren't in any rush to walk down the aisle.

"With their hectic travel schedules, Andy and Brooklyn plan to enjoy their engagement," said a statement posted on their Web site then.

According to the many sources available online, the nuptials will be "very small. Just friends and family. Not a big Hollywood crowd as they're not like that."

The New York Post, which first reported the news, says Decker, 21, and her bridesmaids "had a big bachelorette weekend in Chapel Hill, NC" last weekend.

"They just bounced around and had a great time," added the paper.

Jarmila Gajdosova marries Sam Groth; Who's next?

Jarmila Gajdosova, a Slovak pro tennis player who now plays for Australia, was married last weekend in Albury to Australian no.9 Samuel Groth.

Guess what is their wedding theme? Of course it's a tennis-themed wedding.

“It was good; it was fun. I think we’re actually a pretty good match on the court as well”, said the new bride Gajdosova.

The duo have been together since 2007 when they met at the Australian Institute of Sport for training.

They’ve been together ever since and have even formed an on-court partnership, playing in the mixed doubles event at the Australian Open for the last two years.

However there is little time for the 21-year-old newlyweds to honeymoon as they are both off to different events.

Jarmila will play in a tournament in Pattaya while Sam travels to Spain for training.

Now, whose wedding is next?

Yeps, all eyes on Andy Roddick and Brooklyn Decker!

Andy Roddick and girlfriend Brooklyn Decker were at the backstage VIP tailgate. They posed separately during the pre-game show prior to the start of Super Bowl XLIII.

From the grass court @ the Queen's Club

This is a brief and random post as I have tonnes of work to catch up. Will be starting a new job next week. Supposed I'm working on contract basis in this current company for 3 months but I end up being working here for a year now.

With the petrol hike and increase in cost of living, I think it's a perfect time for me to move on and out of my comfort zone a bit and strive for more money and perks in Kuala Lumpur. Believe it or not, this is my first time working out from Petaling Jaya.

Enough said about me, let's talk about tennis. You know, Wimbledon is just 2 weeks away. Nothing gets me more excited than Rafael Nadal on grass court. But with that weird looking white T-shirt? Eeewww... wouldn't you just want to rip it off?

Pretty, eh? That is model Brooklyn Decker. Yeps, she's Andy Roddick's fiancee. Besides the girlfriend, guess who is also watching (or should I say spying on) Andy Roddick?

Seems like Nadal has already started working for his first Wimbledon already. Perhaps Roddick is the best person to learn something from about grass surface. After all Roddick is the defending champion here at the Queen's Club and now bidding for a record of 5th Artois Championships.
