Kei Nishikori visits EA Sports studio

Recently, Kei Nishikori, the cover athlete for EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis (Japanese edition) visited the EA Sports studio in Orlando.
"I am really excited to featured in EA Sports Grand Slam Tennis," Kei said.

"I enjoy representing Japan on the court and the fact that I am now included along with both current and past players in the game is really great."

"The Grand Slams are tournaments that every tennis professional wants to win and now through the game everyone will be able to put themselves on the court and experience the excitement and joy of playing as a pro."
Kei tried his hand on the game.

He chose to play his own character and played against Pete Sampras and Rafael Nadal.

The results?

Look at Kei's reaction here. He won without breaking a sweat!

Kei has the potential to beat those big guys in real tennis matches. But he has to recover completely from the current arm injury first.

Thanks to Olivier of IMG for the photos.

Serena Williams the cover athlete for EA's Grand Slam Tennis for Wii?

I think many of us are pretty anxious to get our hands on EA Sports's Grand Slam Tennis when it hits the store on June 18.

The game
which is exclusively for Nintendo Wii will feature many stars from the court including current favorites like Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams to legendary players like John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg.

However EA Sports has yet to announce the cover athlete.

Video game examiner revealed that Serena Williams could have let the cat out of the bag.

In a recent video that was posted on Serena's website, she was at a photo shoot where she and her manager say that they were taking pictures for the cover of Grand Slam Tennis.

And speaking about 'revelation', here are some bootilicious photos of Serena hitting the Miami beach last weekend with sis Venus.

Virtua Tennis 2009 set to be a smash hit this May

The new edition of Virtua Tennis 2009 will be released this May!

Having played Virtua Tennis 3 before, I'm looking forward to the new
fully integrated online ranking system (under the World Tour Mode), as well as the improved volleying, serving and net play, and player stumbling!

This is how the Virtua Tennis 3 looks like if you haven't played before. It's very realistic!

There will also be a new line-up of players such as Andy Murray and Ana Ivanovic whom I supposed will be replacing players like Sebastian Grojean and Martina Hingis.

Virtua Tennis 2009 will feature singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches, as well as Davis Cup play and a number of minigames.

In those Court Games, don't be surprised to see "crocodiles, fruit and pirates".

Actually many of these functions are already available in Virtua Tennis 3. Check out Rafael Nadal practicing his footwork with huge tennis balls and apples :D

SEGA also announced that Virtua Tennis series will be available on Wii platform.
"The Virtua Tennis series is perfect for the Wii platform."

"SEGA is excited to be able to bring this uniquely interactive experience to Wii."

"The multiplayer Court Games in particular will be a feature that family and friends can enjoy together," Sean Ratcliffe the VP of Marketing SEGA of America said.
Virtua Tennis is also available on PC, Xbox, Playstation and PSP platforms.

Fancy a tennis game?

Tennis fever is not over yet. At least for me.

Here's a web-based tennis game for weekend warm up and relaxation. There are several modes to it: training, exhibition and tournament.

But for more polished tennis video games, check out this blog here. There is a list of the top 5 tennis video games. I don't have an Xbox or Playstation, so these games are out of questions.
