TENNIS WATCH: Kid's Day, Minar denies doping, Agassi opens up, Srichaphan's adult product

James Blake and Mardy Fish attended Kid's Day at the Pilot Pen tennis tournament in New Haven yesterday.

Blake, however chose not to enter the tournament in order to prepare for the US Open.

Czech tennis player Ivo Minar was tested positive for a banned substance after a Davis Cup quarterfinal victory over Argentine on July 10-12.

Minar was said to have taken an unspecified supplement that apparently contained a derivative of the banned stimulant pseudoephedrine.

Currently ranked at no. 66, he denied he had never 'consciously' taken a banned substance.

Is Paradorn Srichaphan selling adult product?

According to Srichaphan, he hoped his latest business, a herbal-product company called Magic Thaiherbs, will not tarnish his image as a national hero.
"Unlike Viagra, my product is more like a tonic which is good for men's bodies. When men are happy and healthy, they make married life better,'' said the former Thai no.1.

Weekend winners: Roger Federer's no. 16; Elena Dementieva bites in disbelief

C'mon stop djoking... this trophy looks like mine...

Roger Federer captured his 16th ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title at the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters after defeating Novak Djokovic 6-1, 7-5 in just one hour and 31 minutes.

Is the number 16 going to bring him more luck at the US Open? We'll see!

In the men's doubles final, Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor took down home favourite Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan.

The American twin brothers defeat is understandable as they are busy preparing for the launch of their debut album in September.

Elena Dementieva had to bite herself to believe she had won the Rogers Cup title yesterday.

The no. 4 seed had a bad start against Maria Sharapova but soon took over the match and won 6-4, 6-3.

Will she be able to maintain her top form (and most importantly not choke up) at the US Open to eventually win her first Grand Slam?

Let's discuss this again when Dementieva can get into the semifinals.

In the women's doubles, Spaniards Nuria Llagostera Vives and Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez defeated Australians Samantha Stosur and Rennae Stubbs.

Work it, girl, work it!

Jelena Jankovic was recently featured in an Austrian-based Story magazine.

Don't you think Jankovic make a great high fashion model with that 'quirky' attribute and memorably unusual face?

A special mention by LTAM...

Thank you to the nice people at Lawn Tennis Association Malaysia (LTAM) for the special mention of this humble blog on their website.

Hopefully my little contribution will help in some way to put Malaysia on the tennis world map.

The name HCFoo is no stranger to the local blog scene. HCFoo dedicates her blog solely on tennis, featuring the gossips and tournaments that surrounds it.

HCFoo will also be covering the Malaysian Open (ATP 250) rather extensively. Such work done by our fellow Malaysians are much appreciated in a bid to further promote and create interest in the game.
