Sam Stosur and partner Liz Astling reveal birth of baby girl, Genevieve

Australian tennis player Sam Stosur has revealed that her partner Liz has given birth to a baby girl, Genevieve. 

Stosur shared a sweet family photo on her Instagram and revealed that the baby was born last month.

Life in lockdown during coronavirus has been challenging in many ways but personally it’s been one of the most exciting and happy times of my life. On the 16th of June, my partner Liz gave birth to our beautiful little girl, Genevieve. It has been a whirlwind time but we could not imagine life without her now. Mum and Evie are doing well and it’s so amazing to be home with them both. We are absolutely in love with this little bundle and rolling with the happy chaos. Stosur is currently 97th in the world singles rankings and has given no indication if she will be returning to tennis when events resume on August 1 for the first time since the season was put on hold in March due to COVID-19.

ITF launches Olympic Book at Wimbledon

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) yesterday announced the publication of its official Olympic Book Aspire, Inspire: Celebrating Tennis at the Olympics 2012.

Thirty-six of the world’s leading tennis players took part in the ITF project to help promote the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Tennis Events.

The 140-page publication features a series of specially commissioned photographs of the game’s top names posing with pictures of themselves as a child and talking about their sporting heroes.

Dominika Cibulkova: Sam Stosur played like a man

Dominika Cibulkova who was beaten 6-4, 6-1 by Sam Stosur in the quarterfinals at the French Open says that facing the Australian is like playing against a man.

"Her topspin and her serve, I mean, she played like a man, and it's really hard to play against a man," Cibulkova said. "It was driving me crazy on the court today. So it was really, really hard."

I totally understand her frustration especially after beaten the world no.1 Victoria Azarenka but only to fall easily after that. However, by passing that kind of remark is just cheap, bitch!

Sam Stosur is not much of a party goer

Reading Sam Stosur's interview is fun although the questions are very ordinary ones.

Besides saying that she would like to have Rafael Nadal's tenacity in the latest interview on the Roland Garros' official website, Stosur revealed that she's not a party goer as she doesn't hangout late at night.

The Australian also mentioned that she has a Swiss yodelling song, which she sang awfully to with the members of the Fed Cup team after a win.

Sam Stosur rides the bike after bad experiences with taxis

Sam Stosur posted a picture of herself riding a bike in Paris on her fan page.

In that post, she mentioned that she has too many bad experiences with taxis. Not sure if she specifically pointed that to the Parisian taxi service or just a random statement.
