VIDEO: Michael Llodra crashes into ball girl, knocks out of Wimbledon

Michael Llodra crashed out of Wimbledon when a collision with the umpire's chair and a ball girl brought an abrupt end to his second round match against Tommy Haas during the seventh game yesterday.

He was sprinting towards Haas dropshot in the fifth game when he couldn't apply the breaks. Llodra slammed into the umpire's chair before collapsing on top of the ball girl.

A player's chair was knocked over and a bin went flying due to the impact.

Llodra asked the ball girl whether she was okay and gave her a hug before resuming the match.

He tried to get back into the game but it was over by the 20th minute of the match.

Much to the crowd’s delight, after Llodra left the court Haas played several rallies with a ballboy and then a ballgirl.

The ballgirl was sufficiently good that someone in the crowd felt it necessary to shout, "Come on, Tommy!”

Britain's Elena Baltacha apologises but can't remember saying the F-word

Elena Baltacha, the last British woman in Wimbledon yesterday found herself having to apologise for uttering an expletive that she did not remember.
She said, "Someone told me I said the F-word out loud, but I do not remember that. I shouted a few things, but they were in Russian."

"If I have offended anyone, then I am sorry."
Baltacha will take on Belgium's Kirsten Flipkens with the hope of reaching the third round of Wimbledon and climbing into the world's top 100 for the first time.

Wimbledon Day Two wrap

Honestly it's really tough to have a life and blog at the same time. Day 3 is almost over and I'm still struggling to come up with Day 2 wrap.

The guy in the picture fainted due to the heat at Wimbledon. I think I'm going to faint soon too.

I'll quickly wrap this up and go to bed, which I haven't been to for the last couple of days.

Venus Williams opened the defence of her Wimbledon singles crown in impressive fashion with a 6-3, 6-2 victory on Centre Court over Swiss teenager Stefanie Voegele.

Jelena Jankovic overcame blisters and a broken toenail to win 6-4, 7-6 against German Julia Goerges .

Ana Ivanovic narrowly avoided a first round defeat at Wimbledon for a second successive year as she tiptoed past Lucie Hradecka 5-7 6-2 8-6.

The retiring Marat Safin said goodbye to Wimbledon singles on Tuesday at 29 after his defeat to Jesse Levine.

The 133rd-ranked qualifier found himself on Court No. 18 beating Safin 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4.

Safin who has vowed to retire at season's end was asked how he feels about being done with Wimbledon.
"Relieved," the 29-year-old Safin replied. "Pretty much relieved."
Sixth seed Andy Roddick was given a brief scare before he secured a 6-3 7-6 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Jeremy Chardy.

Meanwhile, one of my favourite, Juan Martin del Potro also reached the second round with a 6-3, 6-1, 6-2 win over Frenchman Arnaud Clement.

Del Potro will now play 2002 champion Lleyton Hewitt for a place in the last 32.

Quiet Murray, Clumsy Kendrick

Looks like nobody's interested to talk about Andy Murray's new Fred Perry kit when he made his debut at the Centre Court yesterday.

Judy and girlfriend Kim Sears happy and proud with their favourite guy.

Perhaps the only person worth talking about was Robert Kendrick.

At one point during the ninth game, a diving volley from Kendrick was said to be a reminiscent of Boris Becker in his prime.

After losing 5-7, 7-6, 3-6, 4-6 to Murray, Kendrick had another memorable dive while walking off the court...

.... and nobody else was more shocked than Murray himself.

I bet Kendrick hate losing to Murray already!
